Update on SC

Just wanted to give an update on our little patient. I've been trying to update FB so I figured I better post here too. As of this morning the cultures are all negative, so that is great. They will still keep her on antibiotics until the cultures have had a chance to grow for 48 hours though.

While we are so thankful that she doesn't appear to have a bacterial infection, she must have a bad virus as her temps have remained around 102 throughout our stay here. They will not let her go home with a fever like that despite negative cultures. Our nurse mentioned that they may add an antiviral agent to her meds, and they may even check for a few specific viruses. Of course we will have to wait to hear what the doctors say when they round sometime today.

Please pray that her fever breaks and that she starts feeling better. She is obviously miserable which is heartbreaking for us. Her heart rate, blood pressure, and respirations are all elevated, and she's constantly fussing and grunting (she normally hardly ever fusses). We are ready for our sweet to feel better and be back to her happy self!
