...was just one of those days. I was so glad that it was finally Friday, meaning that I was off work today. I was hoping to be able get a few more hours of sleep after the baby went back to bed after her 6:00 am feeding. We had a plumber coming by to look at our sink, but he told John he would be here between 10:00-1:00. But nope, the doorbell buzzed loudly, several times, at 8:00 am on the dot. And when I say our doorbell buzzes, I mean it sounds like a foghorn. It is the worst sounding thing and will scare the BUHjesus out of you. So I rolled out of bed looking like Who Shot Shorty to get the door. Why is it that when you want a worker to get to your house promptly on time they give you one of those windows like "we'll be there sometime between 8 and 5," but when you don't mind if they show up towards the end of their "10 to 1" window they get there at 8?? Anyway, I told him the problem we were having with the kitchen sink (which wasn't major but we felt like it was due to some work they had been doing at our house last week--that's why John wasn't trying to fit it. Well that and he probably wouldn't know how) and he tinkered around with it, was so loud he woke the baby up, stepped right on one of her play mats with his dirty work shoes, got dirt and water everywhere, and just generally annoyed me. I even saw me some crack. How cliche? Pull up your pants mister! Anyway, he left me with no working sink for a couple of hours because he had to go hunt down a part.
Then when he came back this afternoon, he couldn't fix the problem, and actually made it worse and basically left us without a functioning sink. And we were out $85 just for his trip out there (do NOT get me started on that). I seriously had steam coming out of my ears.
So I decided to get out of the house for a while. It was the prettiest day we've had in a while (well supposedly yesterday was pretty too but I didn't see the light of day, so I wouldn't know), so I decided to load Curran up in the stroller and go for a spin. I tuned my iPod to the Glee Soundtrack and pointed the stroller towards Dreamcakes for a treat. Why is it that sunshine and sugar make everything better? And I just might have had two cupcakes. But anyway. My brother in law came over when we got back from our walk to take a look at the sink. And of course he got it working again. Good thing he will work for cupcakes.
But one look at my sweet babe always puts me in a good mood. She was being so cute and funny today, too. Of course I think everything she does is the cutest, smartest, most talented, most hilarious thing ever. But she made me laugh a lot today. Whether it's her cracking herself up about something, or her getting tickled at something goofy I'm doing, or the look of anticipation she gives me when she wants me to do the goofy thing again, or the stupid songs that I make up on the spot and then laugh at myself when I actually hear what I'm saying.
I enjoy every second I get to spend with my sweet little CurryBug, whether or not I get any sleep, or have a working sink, or have to see plumber's crack, or get punched in the nose and get pooped on simultaneously. (Yes that did happen today as well.)
P.S. On another random note, does anyone else think that some of the winter Olympic sports are just downright weird? I mean, who decides what is going to be considered a sport and what's not? Like curling (sp)...do they have curling teams in high school or college? That Olympic event (one of many, I might add) just baffles me.

Ugh...I hate those days! Okay, this is SO random but I saw a few posts back that you were having trouble finding footies in bigger sizes. This is one of the great adventures of my life. I am determined to keep AP in them as long as possible. Do y'all have The Children's Place? I have had such good luck there and they have nice big sizes (not that I would no anything about putting a child in something upwards of 9 mo, but I like to buy ahead!).
And I'm going to e-mail you about baby food; you can disregard it if you're not interested. You may already know all my tips, ha!
Another friend mentioned The Children's Place so I will definitely have to check that out. I just hate spending too much on pj's, so I am always searching for some cute (or really they don't have to be too cute) options. She just kicks her legs through the ones that snap, and her room gets kind of cold, so I don't like her legs hanging out all night. Not that she probably minds it. :)
As far as baby food making goes, I would greatly appreciate any tips!! I saw your other comment and have been meaning to get on here and reply, but mainly I want to make my own food for $ saving, but also I like the idea of knowing exactly what she is eating. I mean I know the store bought stuff is great, and the ingredients are only the vegetable + water or fruit+ water + citric and ascorbic acid, but still. I kind of want to make my own for some reason. And my mom made all ours, so I guess I always kinda thought I would try to do the same. But we'll see if I stick with it. :)
Loved the pics! Is Curran's hair turning red?
Sometimes it looks a little auburn in certain light, but it's still light brown in real life. Although we have so much red on both sides of the family we're not ruling out the possibility! :)
That post cracked me up! I'm right there with you on the days off thing. That is my FAVORITE time, even when he's acting crazy! I love C's toothy smile at the end of your post.
About the olympics thing, we spent like 2 hours watching curling and trying to figure out the rules and scoring. It's pretty intense, apparently.
