Trying to make an escape.
Craig and John sailed in the Rags to Riches Regatta from Grayton Beach to Seagrove yesterday afternoon. Christopher and I were nervous wrecks because a) the boys are amateurs {as in they've only been sailing a handful of times}, and b) there was a lot of wind yesterday making the water very rough. They left our house yesterday morning and sailed to Grayton, so we went and met them for a little while before the start of the race.
My little tourist wishing Uncle Craig good luck.
Getting the boat ready.
They made the loop right in front of our house, so we were able to watch them.
Glad they made it out alive!
Four boats flipped and one team got stranded because their mast broke. We found out later that while they were stranded sharks were circling their boat. John had already said he was done sailing for the rest of our trip because he was so tired, but that pretty much sealed the deal.
They finished 9th out of 15 and got an award for being the youngest team. They were also the only first time racers, so we were proud of how well they did!
Then we came home and took Miss C for a dip. That girl is fearless when it comes to the ocean. She was trying to dive out of my arms to get into the water, and I couldn't put her down for long on the beach because she would head back out to the ocean. So after about 15 or 20 minutes, we ended up just taking her back up to the house to play in the kiddie pool.
Then last night, my mom babysat so the rest of us could all go out to dinner.
