Curran is quite the little firecracker. She's feisty yet sensitive. Strong-willed yet emotional. She is also funny and smart and adorable. These have been the best two years of my life, without question. My heart just seems to grow and grow with every new experience, every heart-warming giggle, every new word, every "I luh you TOO!"
She continues to say new and funny things all the time. She usually talks from the time she gets up until she goes to sleep, but I've noticed that she hardly says a word around strangers or people she doesn't know very well. Some things she says often:
* "Dat's mine! You won't take it {while shaking her head earnestly}."
* She is very into establishing ownership of everything. Example: every morning when we walk outside, she points- "Dat daddy's car. Dat's MY car! {talking about my car} "Dis MY drink. Dat Mama's drink."
* "No, I do it!" {very popular with most kids her age, I'm sure}
* "I ok. I not cry." when she's trying to talk herself out of getting upset.
* One funny thing she said the other day: "I got Mickey Mouse! {after grabbing her stuffed Minnie Mouse doll} Me: "No, that's Minnie." C, looking strangely at her doll and then back at me: "Oh, you right!" :)
* She can count to 18 or 19; I'm not sure which because they sound the same when she says them. When she gets to 18 or 19, she just repeats it over and over like she is still counting up. We'll get to 20 eventually. She has also started being able to identify how many objects she's holding. For example, she'll say "I got two goldfish!" or "I got two books!" etc. One night at supper, she counted the pieces of her chicken {7} as she moved them off her plate and then back on. It's one thing to be able to count {since that's just memorization}, but to see her actually understand what the numbers mean is neat.
* She loves singing her ABC's and that is the most popular "lullaby" requested at night.
She is not as into Beauty and the Beast right now as she has been. Well, she still loves ALL things Belle: her Belle book, stickers, and bandaids, but she has wanted to watch Mickey over Belle most of the time. Her favorite shows right now are Mickey Mouse, Super Why, and Dinosaur Train. On our days off she typically gets to watch some cartoons when she first wakes up, and on days I work she sometimes gets to watch a show while I cook supper. As of this week, I have noticed that she is now starting to verbally respond to the shows, like when Mickey asks where something is, she'll point it at the TV and say "Dere it is."
Mickey: "Is this the Goofy-shaped rock?" Curran: "No, dat's a triangle!" Didn't even know she knew the word triangle.
Her favorite book right now seems to the The Little Engine That Could, and my oh my am I sick of that one. She also still loves her Llama Llama books, Jesus Storybook Bible, and this Christmas book she has that plays Silent Night.
Her favorite foods are pasta with marinara sauce, chicken nuggets, fish sticks, pretty much any and all fruits {but she favors bananas, watermelon, blueberries, grapes, cantaloupe, and oranges), most vegetables {but especially broccoli and carrots}, and yogurt. She also loves chips and cheese dip when we go to our favorite Mexican place {no surprise there}. The other night we had Mexican takeout and she looked at my plate and holding her chip out said, "Dip in guacamole?" Another word I didn't know she knew. She is a good eater and I am thankful for that. She has been to Chick Fil A several times and requests it frequently {she says Chick Fi Yay!}. I think she only likes it because of the play structure that she can't even really climb {I'll spare you the story of how I practically got stuck at the top of one of those things trying to convince her to climb down so we could go home. Do any of you mamas realize how sticky and disgusting the inside of those things are??? I seriously felt like I needed to throw my clothes away after that adventure.}
This month both of her top two-year molars have come in, and the bottom ones are not far behind. These are her last baby teeth {tear}. She hasn't gotten any new teeth since November, so it has been weird to see her teething so much over the last month or so. One of the most common things people comment on when they see her smile is how many teeth she has. :) I happen to like that toothy grin. She LOVES brushing her teeth but does NOT like to have help from her mama. Makes things interesting. She goes for her second dental checkup on Monday.
She loves to play outside, ride her "bike", swing, and go to the park. She still loves to listen to music, and I love to hear her singing along. She is constantly running or skipping through the house, especially when she is excited about something, and it is so cute to watch. When she runs she hardly lifts her feet off the floor, so it looks really funny. She loves to color, but mostly I think she enjoyed taking the crayons out of the box, organizing them a certain way, and then putting them back in again.
She has not been interested in the big girl potty at all lately, so I'm not pushing it. We may try to seriously tackle it in a few months, but for now I am ok with the diapees.
In the past month, she has transitioned from 2 naps per day to 1. I realize everyone else her age has probably been taking only one nap a day for a long time now, but she has just always seemed to need two. Occasionally we'll still have a day where she takes two, like if she wakes up really early and goes down for her first nap earlier than usual. She has had a little harder of a time going to sleep without her paci these last two months, so our bedtime routine has changed somewhat. She now always asks me to tickle her back, so I do that for a minute and then I have to tuck her in tightly with her blanket.

First taste of chocolate milk. She is not a huge chocolate lover so she only drank about half of it, but she was excited about it nonetheless.
When we were in Jackson after the 4th, Chris wanted to run to a store, and they have a fountain/splash area where kids can play. Of course C was in her clothes and not a swim suit, but that didn't stop her.
C got her second hair cut this month and did great this time too.

She loves to "go shopping with her grocery cart." Notice the purse {if you can get your eyes uncrossed from all the blurriness}.
She loves to drive the tractors at Lowes. And she wants to ride each and every one.
