20 Weeks {and 2 days}

I figured it was time for me to do a little update on our baby girl! I actually started this post at 19 weeks but last week downhill quickly, so I'm updated this post to reflect my current 20 week status.

I'm not good at remembering to take a picture every week, and this week I forgot

I am now 20 weeks and feel like I am FINALLY feeling pretty normal again {John my say that I'm not acting normal yet}. I think at 18 weeks I was probably over the pregnancy-related nausea, but with the stomach bug, the pinched nerve in my neck {more on that later}, and sore throat from hell {that lasted for 6 days- I feel like calling it a 'sore throat' doesn't do the pain justice}, it's been hard to say that I feel better. While I still have the pinched nerve, this week has been MUCH better.

Back story on the pinched nerve- 2.5 weeks ago I had a bad pain in my neck that I thought was a crick. However when it was not getting better after about 5 days, and it was actually aggravated by some volunteer work I did, I figured it had to be more than a crick and was likely a pinched nerve. By Tuesday night of last week, I was having so much pain in my neck and left shoulder that I was in tears. I called the after hours nurse at my OB office to see if there was anything I could take besides Tylenol, and she was rude and absolutely no help at all. So at 12:30 that night I ended up in the ER. They gave me a Rx for a pain pill and muscle relaxer and I got home around 4am. Those pills were the only thing that allowed me to get sleep, but there was still nothing I could take during the day to help with the pain. I went to see my dr who recommended getting a massage and seeing a physical therapist. I had two massages last week that actually left me in more pain, unfortunately. Then I went to see my friend Carden, who is a PT, on Friday, and she worked wonders! This past weekend was the most pain free I've been in two weeks. I saw her again this past Monday and and this morning. I'm still hurting but am able to sleep better and function at work, so that is a huge blessing! I'm really praying that this goes away on it's own and does not become some sort of chronic issue. Anyway...I know that is more than anyone wanted or needed to know. So-

Pregnancy stuff-
*I am in mostly maternity pants, although I can still wear some regular pants to work. Shirts and dresses are a mix of regular and maternity. Thank goodness my sister was pregnant at this exact same time last year, so I have a decent maternity wardrobe.
*I am having pretty bad heartburn and reflux, so I have to take my Zantac twice a day as well as pop Tums pretty consistently throughout the day.
*I don't have too many food aversions anymore, but my appetite is not great and I still haven't gotten back into cooking much.
*I'm not a good sleeper by nature, so I don't blame much of that on the pregnancy. Actually, a lot of the blame lies with a certain precious, adorable two year old who has decided to start waking up in the night again. It's not fun, but she has several friends doing the same thing, so that at least makes me feel better.

I have been feeling Little Miss move a ton lately, mostly at night and when I'm sitting at my desk during the day. It's so fun! :) John and I both got to feel her move from the outside a few weeks ago {I was 17 weeks 3 days} and were both so excited! It was so weird to feel her from the outside that early when I hadn't even felt Curran at all at that point. Feeling those little kicks and flutters NEVER gets old! There was one day a few weeks ago when I hadn't felt her in about 12 hours and started to get freaked out, so one of the sweet Echo techs at work did a quick ultrasound to find the heartbeat. That was very reassuring- but good thing they are so busy or else I would be asking for ultrasounds all the time {not that they really know how to do fetal ultrasounds since they only look at the heart}.

Curran has been so sweet and remembers to pray for her baby sister most nights and knows she has to be careful when climbing all over me. She will randomly want to see my stomach to check on the baby, and she always comments that she gets to "come out in Apuhrul {April}" :). She will randomly just start talking about her baby sister, and I love knowing that C is thinking about her. I hope and pray that they have the most special relationship!
