Baby John- 10 Months Old

Well John John turned 10 months on July 22. We were in New Orleans that day for our niece's birthday, so I took his picture the day before as soon as he woke up right before we got on the road, so he was looking super sleepy. He has gotten so busy this month and is very close to taking his first steps! He started getting himself completely standing from sitting, and you can tell that he so badly wants to walk. He has also started crawling on all fours (feet flat on the ground) instead of crawling on his knees. He can get where he wants to go pretty quickly!

He still only has two teeth but the top four are so close to the surface that you can see all of their outlines. I think they have been bothering him because he wakes up moaning a lot during the night. I haven't had to go in there, but it's definitely not the norm for him. Otherwise he is still sleeping great, taking long naps most days and sleeping 12 hours at night.

He still loves to eat a mix of table food and baby food! He can hold squeeze pouches and do those on his own which is nice when I am trying to get dinner cooked. I can put him in his high chair with a few of those and some Puffs or Cheerios and he will stay occupied for a few minutes.

He has really started loving his daddy more! He's about the only person he'll wave to {which is a fairly new trick} and now reaches out for Daddy to hold him. It's really cute to see! He doesn't seem to have much stranger anxiety. Of course he prefers his parents, but he does well with babysitters and friends. In addition to learning to wave, he has clapped a few times but definitely doesn't do it regularly. He does love to do the "How big is John John? So big!" and throw his arms up in the air. :)

He hasn't said any real words yet but he does say a lot of sounds that appear to be on the verge of words with intent. He continues to be such a good and happy baby! Although he is busy and getting into everything. And I'm starting to see the differences between boys and girls- he loves cords, outlets, the fireplace, all the dangerous stuff the girls didn't mess with. We really need to baby-proof soon!
