Softball Season 2015

Curran just completed her first season of softball! I was a little scarred by 3 year old soccer, so it took me a while to get her into another organized sport. :) But she also hasn't been interested either. John and I both feel that team sports are important, so we wanted her to try something besides ballet and gymnastics. She said she wanted to play softball so I signed her right up before she changed her mind! She played on a 6U team, so most of them had never played before. We had so much rain this spring that a lot of practices and games got canceled, but the girls still learned so much! The rules were a tad different- they didn't keep score, everyone got to bat in one inning, they only could run one base at a time, etc. But it was a really fun season and I was surprisingly calm and not competitive. :)

The cutest fans!

This girl was always ready in the field! {The face masks are a league requirement.}

She got a hit on her first at bat! They got 5 pitches from the coach, and if they didn't get a hit, then they would bring out the tee. Curran had to use the tee about half the time, I would say.

Shaking hands after the game.

The grandparents and Sissy came to the first game but got there a tad late and didn't see much. :)

And this was her last game. She played second base in this game, but she normally started at third base, and that was her favorite position. She always made great plays and stopped the ball every time it got hit to her.

This was her last at bat. Hitting didn't come as naturally to her as fielding. She tended to swing more like the bat was a golf club. :)

They had cupcakes after their last game!

This was the only other girl from her school who played 6U, who is also in her class, so I was very glad they were on the same team.

We had such a fun season, and I already can't wait until next year!
