The 2016 school year is in full swing! Curran started 2nd grade and Sallie Cate started 4K. SC is going 4 days a week this year and will still be home with me on Fridays.
On August 10, we all headed to meet C's 2nd grade teacher. It was who Curran said she wanted, and she was SO excited to get her! Her teacher is very sweet and energetic, so I know it's going to be a great year.
That night we had our annual Back to School Super. I got them each a new book, and Curran also got some new Brain Quest cards {which I always get her}.
Curran has been nervous at meet the teacher, but she was very excited on her first day!
Sallie met her teacher that day at noon, but unfortunately I forgot to get a picture. She is SO excited about her teacher this year, who is very sweet as well! Daddy came with us to meet SC's teacher, and then we enjoyed a fun lunch together.
After we picked up C, we got a treat at 32 Degrees like we have the past three years.
The following Monday, Sal had her first day of school. The bad thing about not going to school until 9am is that big sis and daddy are not home to take pictures. :(
Sallie was very excited and could not wait to go! She's got some new kids in her class this year, but she is glad to be with her best friend again. There are only 7 kids in her class, so it's nice and small.
That afternoon, I needed John to pick up Curran from school, so we used him having to leave work early as an excuse to take the girls to do something fun. We surprised them with a trip to see Pete's Dragon, which we had all been dying to see. We realized it was the first time the four of us had ever been to a movie together. It was so fun!
Curran was scared at a few parts and didn't like that she got emotional and cried {all of us but SC cried :) }.
We had talked about eating dinner at Johnny Rocket's afterwards, but we were all full from our snacks at the movies, so we just got milkshakes. Popcorn, candy, and milkshakes for dinner- my girls' idea of a perfect evening! :)
The school year, has gotten off to a great start, and we are so thankful!
