We left on the Friday after her birthday around lunch time and headed straight to the American Girl store in Alpharetta.
The birthday girl was so excited about her special night away!
This little nugget looks like she is about to fall asleep, but NO, she was wide awake until we got to Atlanta. It made me nervous for how the rest of the evening would go.
Here we are!
Posing with Isabelle
As soon as we pulled up to the AG store, the girls spotted a carousel on the second floor of the mall, and they wanted to ride it right away. So John took SC to get a cookie while we were shopping, and then Curran and I met them upstairs by the carousel.
When we left the mall, of course SC fell asleep as soon as we started driving. She reached her hand in that bag of Cheez-Its, grabbed one, and started eating it, all while never opening her eyes or even waking up! Hilarious.
We drove straight to dinner at the Buckhead Diner. We really enjoyed it!
Then we went and checked in at our hotel and took the girls for a dip in the pool. They were so excited and had so much fun!
They really liked the hot tub, and kept running back and forth between there and the pool.
This little fish just swam all around that pool.
Then we went up to the room for baths and some wrasslin'. I had to let go of my germaphobe tendencies in hotel rooms because the kids were so excited to be there.
Isabelle got tucked in and Curran and I watched a movie on the fold-out couch. We had to let SC fall asleep in the bedroom before we went to bed.
Saturday morning we got up and went to the aquarium! We took C before SC was born, but it was SC's first time to go, and she was SO excited!
Getting pictures was hard because there were too many fun things to look at!
After the aquarium we went to lunch at The Varsity. It was yummy, as always, and the girls loved it!
On the way home, John and I were talking and we realized that this was the first time we had ever been on a little trip with just our family of four. It was so much fun just being with each other, and we really want to make a point to do it more often.

Such a fun trip with sweet memories! Those pictures of SC are cracking me up - love the big blanket and of course the Cheez-its. She is her father's child! :)
C looks so happy with her AG! Love SC sleep eating. I could see Lu doing that if she would ever sleep in the car, ha! Little weekend trips are the best. We said the same thing about making a point to do that more, even have an atl trip planned for next year!
